Lynnette Sharp of Effingham and Raoul Trahan of Effingham announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Elbert Karnes and the late Ruthie Karnes of Beecher City and the granddaughter of the late Cleo Hubbert, the late Eunice Hubbert, the late Jeanie Karnes and the late Ruth Karnes.

She is a 1985 graduate of St. Elmo Jr/Sr High School. She is currently attending Colorado Technical University Online and is expected to graduate in 2010. She is currently employed by WalMart in Effingham.

The groom-to-be is the son of Jestin Trahan and LaVonne Trahan of Georgetown and the grandson of the late Skile and Clara Chrisinger and the late Challie and Nubery Trahan.

He is a 2003 graduate of Shimer College, Waukegan, with a Bachelor of Arts in liberal studies.

A September 26, 2009, wedding is planned at the Christ Church of Effingham. There will be a reception following the wedding at the Kluthe Building in Beecher City.
