An open house will be held in honor of Iola M. Beck’s 80th birthday on Sunday, July 27, at Summit Avenue Baptist Church, 1715 N. Summit Ave., Decatur from 2:30 - 5 p.m.
Mrs. Beck was born July 23, 1928, in Macon County, IL, daughter of Phineas E. Moore and Donna B. (Barnett) Moore.
She married James G. Beck on August 25, 1946, in Macon County. He is now deceased.
She has five surviving children: Ethel “Becky” (John) Hand of Moweaqua, James Beck of Decatur, Steven (Beckey) Beck of Decatur, Brenda (Stanley) Henderson of Hannibal, MO, and Michael(Charlotte) Beck of Moweaqua. One son and one daughter are deceased. She also has 23 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Beck and her husband lived in Herrick and farmed for several years before moving back to Decatur. She is retired from Decatur Day Care.
