Katie Alwardt of Walshville, IL and Justin King of Troy, IL announce their engagement and wedding.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Steven and Teresa Alwardt. She is the granddaughter of Vivian Kessler of Stewardson and the late Charles Kessler and Ted Alwardt of Mattoon and the late Emma Kessler. She graduated from Litchfield High School in 2003. She then graduated from Illinois State University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Professional Accountancy. She is employed by Anders, Minkler, & Diehl LLP as a Tax Associate in St. Louis, MO.

The groom is the son of Ed and Teresa King of Windsor. He is the grandson of Helen McCoy of Neoga and the late Donald Ozier and Lottie King of Windsor and the late Edward King. He graduated from Windsor High School in 2000 and Southern Illinois University - Carbondale in 2004 with a Bachelor Science in Plant and Soil Science. He is employed by the NRCS District Conservationist for Bond County in Greenville, IL.

The couple plan a wedding on November 29, 2008 at 2 p.m. in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Strasburg, IL.
