Lewis to celebrate 90th birthday


SHELBYVILLE, IL. — A birthday card shower is planned for Lydia Lewis of rural Shelbyville who will celebrate her 90th birthday on September 24.

She was born in Holland Township, the daughter of Jude and Lucy McCabe Bixler. She married William W. Lewis in Clarksville, TN, in 1941 He died in May 2002.

Mrs. Lewis is the mother of four children: Lana (Tome C.) Miller of rural Shelbyville, Judy (Roger) Uphoff of rural Lovington, Phyllis Allen or rural Mode, and Randy (Devin) Lewis of Burleson, TX. She has 7 grand children, 7 step-grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 17 step-great grandchildren and one step-great-great grandchild.

She is a homemaker and was a bookkeeper for her husband’s dragline and dozer business. She runs and manages the farm on which she was raised. She enjoys reading, traveling, getting together with family and friends and she stays active in her church.
