---- — Kalei Day of Herrick and Nicholas Vaughn of Herrick were married June 8, 2013 at the Cowden Free Methodist Church.
The bride is the daughter of Timothy and Shelly Day of Beecher City. She is a 2008 graduate of Cowden-Herrick High School and a 2011 graduate of Lake Land College. She is currently employed as an office assistant by Lake Land College-Vandalia Correctional Center.
The groom is the son of Richard Vaughn and Melinda Seaton of Herrick. He is a graduate of Cowden-Herrick High School and is employed as a welder/iron worker by the Kelly Group.
Steve Neville officiated the ceremony.
The bride was attended by her sister Kortney Day of Beecher City as maid of honor; and bridesmaids Sarah Vaughn of Herrick, sister-in-law of the groom; Katie Zerrusen of Teutopolis, friend of the bride; Jessica Bunch of Cowden, friend of the couple; and Malayne Seaton of Herrick, sister of the groom. Flower girls were Averie Vaughn of Herrick, daughter of the groom, and Reece Vaughn of Herrick, niece of the groom. Ring bearer was Connor Vaughn of Herrick, nephew of the groom.
Attending the groom were Nathan Vaughn of Herrick, brother of the groom; and groomsmen Denny Vaughn of Cowden, cousin of the groom; Tom Golding of Shelbyville, friend of the groom; Jason Bunch of Cowden, friend of the couple; and Tyler Day of Beecher City, brother of the bride. Ushers were Mike Hart of Ramsey, friend of the groom, and Matt Schmitz of Pana, cousin of the groom.
Attending the guest book was Ashlie Vaughn of Pana, cousin of the groom.
A reception was held at Effingham Heartland Gardens. Servers were Kathi Vaughn of Altamont and Teressa Rench of Herrick, aunts of the groom.
The couple took a week long trip to Lake Tahoe, Reno, Nevada, and is now at home in Herrick.
