Killams celebrate 65th

---- — Frederick and Nancy Killam celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on September 11 with a family dinner. Mr. Killam and the former Nancy Kelly were married September 11, 1948 at the New Hope Baptist Church by Rev. Jack Simmons. Attendants were her sister Mary Kelly and Ronald Cothern, a family friend. A reception was held at their home.

They are the parents of Mary Creamer of Assumption and Linda Frost of Owaneco. They have four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

They both graduated from Tower Hill High School and Nancy went to work for Sta-Rite Ginnie Lou, Ind. at Shelbyville for five years, later for the Circuit clerk in Shelbyville, and their Insurance office. Fred went to California and worked for Western Air-Lines, returning home to farm. They have lived and farmed a cenntennial farm in Rural Township and have an Insurance office in Assumption. Fred has been a 50 year + member of Operating Engineers Local 965 of Springfield, was Rural Township Supervisor, and was on the Assumption Co-Op Board for Sixteen years. He also sold Pioneer Seeds and is President of Shelbyville Mutual Ins. Company and currently is on the Planning and Zoning Board of Appeals of Shelby County.

They are members of Knobs Baptist Church and the Gideon International.
