Youngs to celebrate 50th anniversary

---- — Larry and Carol Young of Shumway will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, June 23.

Larry Young, son of the late Dee and Lillian Young, and Carol Reeder, daughter of the late Earl and Juanita Reeder, were married June 23, 1963 at the Mode Methodist Church. Reverend D.E. Angle officiated the double ring ceremony. The reception was held in the yard at the home of bride’s parents (where daughter Kim lives now).

Larry and Carol have two children and six grandchildren. Daughter, Kim (husband Carl Myers), have three daughters: Chelsey (husband Dustin Stuckemeyer), Kelsey, and Courtney. Son, Todd (wife Penni), have three children: Morgan, Garrett, and Blake.

Larry is retired from Caterpiller in Decatur, but is still coaching and farming. Carol is a homemaker and helps on the family farm.

Larry and Carol are going to celebrate with their children and families by going out to eat in Springfield, Illinois (the location where the couple spent their honeymoon 50 years ago).
