SHELBYVILLE, IL. —
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gaston of Iowa Park (Texas) celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Thursday (March 29) at a party in their honor at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Nada Gaston of Wichita Falls (Texas). The couple’s other children, Gary Gaston of Pflugerville, Texas, and Vickie Lyon of Winterset, Iowa, were also hosts for the gathering.
Mr. Gaston and Christina Furr, both natives of Shelbyville, Ill., were married March 29, 1952, in their hometown.
Mr. Gaston was a production manager and facilities project manager for Fisher Controls in Marshalltown, Iowa, and Austin, Texas, before his retirement in September 1986.
Mrs. Gaston is a homemaker and was employed with the Marshalltown school lunch program.
Mr. and Mrs. Gaston also served as president and secretary, respectively, of Victory Stables in Grimes, Iowa, and enjoyed camping and travel. They are Methodists. The couple have one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
