Spannagel family holds 79th reunion

The descendants of Christian F. and Eva Streng Spannagel held their 79th annual reunion June 23, 2013, at the Strasburg Community Building with 28 in attendance. Hosting the potluck was Leigha Moffett.

Those attending wer Delbert and Doris Stremming; Greg and Michelle Spannagel; Josh, Grady, and Weston Spannagel; Grace Moffett; Tom, Vivian, and Lynn Moffett; Glen Spannagel; Russell and Nancy Slifer; Dianna Gibson; Barb, Dylan, and Collin Ohnesorge; Wilma Spannagel; Bob and Ruth Kohnert; Larry and Donna Schultz; Abbey and Paislee Giles and Emeree Watkins; Leigha Moffett; Gail Biehler; and Pat Williams.

The oldest lady attending was Doris Stremming at age 84 and the oldest man was her husband, Delbert Stremming at 83. The youngest girl attending was Paislee Giles, age 1 1/2 months, and the youngest boy was Weston Spannagel, age 2.

There were four births and one adoption since the last reunion. Brenlee Carolyn Orman was born on December 20, 2012. She is the daughter of Bob and Courtneay Orman, granddaughter of Leland and Marianna Moffett, great granddaughter of Tom and Vivian Moffett. Brielle Ann Condron was born April 20, 2013. She is the daughter pf Tim and Danell Condron, granddaughter of Greg and Michelle Spannagel, and great granddaughter of Wilma Spannagel. Paislee Grace Giles was born on May 1, 2013. She is the daughter of Nathan and Abbey Giles, granddaughter of John and Pat Williams, great granddaughter of Wilma Spannagel. Mallory Elizabeth Spannagel was adopte on may 23, 2013. Her parents are Jason and Amanda Spannagel, granddaughter of Greg and Michelle Spannagel, great granddaughter of Wilma Spannagel. Brantley Joshua Nichols was born April 10, 2013. He is the son of Josh Nichols and Kayla Knop, grandson of Kyle and Michelle Knop.

There was one marriage recorded. Andrea Spannagel married Gabriel Sehr on November 3, 2012.

There were three deaths recorded since the last reunion. Betty Spannagel, wife of Glen Spannagel, died on September 17, 2012. Joyce Reel Kull died December 5, 2012, and her sister Ruth Reel Thomas died December 20, 2012.

The 80th reunion will be held on the fourth Sunday on June 2014 at the Strasburg Commuity Building with Doris Stremming and Ruth Kohnert hosting.
