Shelby County 4-H holds officer training

Shelbyville Daily Union

---- — Shelby County 4-H held Officer Training for all Shelby County 4-H members on February 24. Shelby County 4-H Federation provided pizza for everyone. The training materials were prepared by Unit 19 Educator, Dana Homann. Members were then divided into 3 groups and rotated between 3 stations: learning to be the club secretary, learning how to record checks and deposits for the club treasurer position, and general information about all club officer positions as well as helping your club have an effective meeting.

After the mini workshops, the group came back together and played 4-H Jeopardy. Jeopardy questions focused on club officer positions, parliamentary procedure and general 4-H information. Members left with a better understanding of the duties of club officers and parliamentary procedure.

Thanks to Federation for providing the pizza and thanks to all the 4-H’ers for attending the training.
