On Friday, February 7, 2014, Lisa Parker, Shelby Sloan, and Megan Zindel traveled to the National Sequestration Building in Decatur to interview for their State FFA Degree. To receive this degree, the member must have earned or productively invested $1,500 or worked 750 hours on their Supervised Agricultural Experience Program (SAE). They must have record books for ever year of FFA membership (at least 3 years), have a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale, and performed at least 25 community service hours. After filling out a long application, the candidates are interviewed by a panel of judges. All three individuals were selected by the judges as recipients of this degree. This is a very impressive achievement, because Illinois gives out very few each year.
