---- — Bobbi Mattingly, Regional Superintendent of Schools, has announced that the following paper based GED exams have been scheduled for individuals residing in Clark, Coles, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Moultrie and Shelby counties.

Saturday, December 7, 2013 – 7:30 AM- Lake Land College, Webb Hall, Mattoon, IL RE TESTERS ONLY
Monday night, December 16, 2013 – 4:30 PM-Regional Office of Education #11, Charleston, IL RE TESTERS ONLY
ROE #11 is now a computer based testing site. Those individuals interested in taking the GED exam in our office on the computer may register at www.GEDcomputer.com. Dates and times will be listed on the website during the registration processes.
This examination is given to qualified persons for the equivalent of a high school diploma. To be eligible for the examination, a person must be at least 17 years of age (17 year olds must provide proof of drop date from high school).
Anyone planning to take the test must have made application in the Regional Office of Education, as soon as possible; as a limited number of applications can be accepted. Individuals are asked to allow approximately 45 minutes to complete the registration.
Local registration may be done at:
Moultrie County Courthouse - County Board Room, Sullivan, 3rd Monday of the month from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
Shelby County - Shelbyville Township Building, Shelbyville, 1st Monday of the month from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.
A fee of $50.00 is paid at the time of registration.
Please note: Starting in 2014, there will be a new GED test. The current version of the GED test is expiring at the end of 2013 and scores will expire too if the GED test isn’t finished and all sections passed by then.
