---- — On March 20, the Cowden-Herrick FFA Chapter hosted their annual awards banquet. Many members and guests were in attendance, and were provided with a meal catered by Deb’s. The FFA officers started the night off with their opening ceremonies preceding the meal. After the meal many awards and certificates were given to members that had participated in FFA events over the past year. Thank you certificates were also handed out to farms, families, and businesses that donated time and money to our chapter. The Star Greenhand Award is awarded to an outstanding Greenhand in the chapter, this year’s award was presented to Skylar Morrison. The Star Chapter Farmer Award is presented to an exceptional member that has displayed leadership and dedication to their chapter, this year the award was presented to Alicia Adams, Chapter Reporter. The DeKalb Award is awarded to a senior member who has shown outstanding performance in leadership and academics, this year the award was presented to Bailey Rueff, Chapter President. After the awards were completed the annual “Year in Review” slideshow was shown by officer, Alicia Adams. The evening was concluded by our guest speaker Cody Carman, FFA State Officer. Many members of the chapter are looking forward to all the opportunities the next year has in store for them.
