On Thursday, March 14, the Central A&M FFA Officer Team traveled to Springfield, Illinois for Ag Legislative Day.
This is a day to represent and show the importance of Illinois agriculture to Illinois politicians and Capitol. Over 700 other FFA members participated in this event. Members prepared baskets that contained agriculture related items to give to the senators. Boxed lunches were also packed and given to the representatives. Each basket and lunch was individually delivered to each senator or representative. All of the FFA members also had the chance to hear Governor Pat Quinn speak on the importance of Agriculture in Illinois.
This was a great opportunity for FFA members to tour the Capitol building and meet senators and representatives to thank them for their support in agriculture.
