Central A&M FFA attends Farm Progress Show

On August 28, 39 Central A&M FFA members had the privilege of attending the 2013 Farm Progress Show in Decatur, Illinois. The show is known as one of the nation’s greatest agricultural showcases.

The FFA had the chance to visit and tour many different exhibits where we learned about a lot of different jobs and areas of the agricultural field to work in. We also got to see all of the farm equipment and the new farm equipment. It is important for us to attend this because it shows us how many great agricultural opportunities there are out there. The agricultural field doesn’t just have to do with farming and the Farm Progress Show explains what other options the agricultural field offers such as: veterinary medicine, seed salesman, agronomist, working for a large equipment store, natural resources and many others.

This is why we enjoy attending the Farm Progress show because it teaches us about many new things and new experiences. We wanted to send a special thank you to GSI for allowing us to serve sno-cones at their booth and to Farm Credit for the t-shirts and donation to our chapter. Thank you also to our school district for allowing us to attend this awesome event.

Members who attended were: Kylie Miller, Rebekah Nash, Lisa Parker, Abbey Burgener, Abby Forlines, Salena Sloan, Mo Hunter, Mikaela Cole, Lauren Burgener, Brock Burgener, Michelle Burrus, Kayleigh Postin, Drew Koontz, Ethan Woodard, Megan Zindel, Shelby Sloan, Reece Waddington, Lydia Cooper, Del Adcock, Madison Getz, Maddie Cooper, Dean Adcock, Jacob Hazlet, Kyle Taylor, Scott Myers, Drake Grubb, Connor Mitchell, Emmie Etherton, Matthew Hardeman, Alex Scott, Tristan Simpson, Alli Kresin, Payton Sloan, Sam Degenhardt, Aubrey Koontz, Morgan Damery, and Kylie Harris.
