---- — Bobbi Mattingly, Regional Superintendent of Schools, has announced that the following GED exams have been scheduled for individuals residing in Clark, Coles, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Moultrie and Shelby counties.
- Monday & Tuesday nights, October 28 & 29, 2013 – 5:30 PM - Regional Office of Education #11, 730 7th Street, Charleston, IL
- Saturday, December 7, 2013 – 7:30 AM- Lake Land College, Webb Hall, Mattoon, IL
This examination is given to qualified persons for the equivalent of a high school diploma.
To be eligible for the examination, a person must be at least 17 years of age (17 year olds must provide proof of drop date from high school).
Anyone planning to take the test must have made application in the Regional Office of Education, as soon as possible; as a limited number of applications can be accepted.
Individuals are asked to allow approximately 45 minutes to complete the registration.
A fee of $50.00 is paid at the time of registration.
Area registration will be held at Shelby County - Shelbyville Township Building, Shelbyville, 1st Monday of the month from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.; Moultrie County Courthouse - County Board Room, Sullivan, 3rd Monday of the month from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
Please Note: Starting in 2014, there will be a new GED test.
The current version of the GED test is expiring at the end of 2013 and scores will expire too if the GED test isn’t finished and all sections passed by then.
