Hopper selected for IMEA band festival

---- — Kaitlin Hopper, senior at Shelbyville High School, was selected to participate in the Illinois Music Education Association District 5 Band Festival after an audition process at Effingham High School on October 14.

On Saturday, November 23, at Eastern Illinois University she performed on the French Horn, which is one of the eight instruments she plays. Hopper had the privilege of performing in a standing room only Dvorak Concert Hall with the Senior Band directed by Joseph Manfredo. The musical selections for the concert boasted an Americana theme featuring “Colonial Collage”, “American Elegy”, “Washington Post March”, and “First Suite for Band”.

Hopper also performed in the Millikin Honor Band for the fourth year in a row on October 28.

She is the daughter of Jeremy and Jane Hopper.
