---- — Eleven Shelbyville High School National Honor Society students had the opportunity to go to Chicago for a weekend Feb. 15-17 for the 2013 National LEAD (Leadership Experience and Development) Conference.

The conferences which are sponsored by the National Association of Secondary School Principals are designed to encourage communication among student leaders and advisers, to strengthen leadership skills, and to prepare those attending for leadership roles on the local, state, and regional levels.

The students learned new ideas that they will soon apply in their own chapter and community. As well as new ideas, they learned a lot about themselves and one another to be the best leaders they can be and work together towards common goals.
