The Lake Land College student body recently selected Kolten Postin, Moweaqua, as its 2013-2014 student trustee. The student trustee serves on the Lake Land College Board of Trustees, representing the student body in policy and decision making.
“I’m going to be working very closely with the Student Government Association to make sure I know what the student issues are so that I can relay that information to the Board of Trustees,” said Postin.
Postin, who is an agriculture transfer student, said that as student trustee, he hopes to meet a lot of new people and become more involved at Lake Land.
The Lake Land College Student Government Association (SGA) members were also selected recently by the student body. The SGA is the official voice of the student body to the college community. This student organization provides members with the opportunity to build leadership skills and serve the campus and community as a whole.
Members of the 2013-2014 SGA include: Courtney Carver, Charleston, president; Ian Keith, Effingham, vice president; Hilary Rhode, Hume, secretary; Emily Smith, Charleston, treasurer; Dylan Rardin, Kansas, parliamentarian; Sara Carroll, Sullivan, public information officer; Felicity Shoultz, Mattoon; Kristopher Kersey, Arcola; and Andrea Gardner, Windsor.
