DECATUR, Ill. – Adults interested in earning a bachelor’s degree should attend Millikin University’s PACE Open House on Thursday, April 24, 2014, from 4:30 p.m. - 6 p.m. in the lower level of Richards Treat University Center, East Room, on the Millikin campus to learn more about the accelerated, evening format. PACE offers bachelor degrees in Accounting, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Management, Nursing RN to BSN, and Organizational Leadership in the evening format, plus Educator Licensure for adults who already hold a bachelor’s degree and want to move into a teaching career.
Prospective students can meet with academic advisors to learn about the PACE format and discuss the degree requirements for the various majors, and are encouraged to bring their transcripts from any colleges or universities they have previously attended to be reviewed by Millikin’s Registrar that evening. A Financial Aid representative will be available to address questions. To register for the event, go online to millikin.edu/pace or call 217.420.6778.
All majors offered in the PACE format are offered on the Millikin campus, and the Education majors are offered on the Parkland College campus in Champaign, Ill. Classes meet one night a week for 5, 8, or 10 weeks depending on the course. Because courses begin every five weeks, students are able to begin their coursework at various points in the academic year. PACE students generally transfer in a minimum of 12 college credit hours with a grade point average of at least 2.0.
Millikin began offering accelerated, evening courses in 2003 in response to a growing need in the community to provide a quality baccalaureate education to busy adults juggling families, careers, and community responsibilities.
