---- — The Shelby County Equine Team recently traveled to Madison, Wisconsin to compete in the Midwest Horse Fair Horse Judging Contest, where they had two first place teams and a first place individual.
Hallie Horsman won first place overall in the junior-junior division. Amanda Hall placed 5th, Haylee Ishmael 7th and Jaden Hadowsky, attending her first horse judging contest, placed 15th. Their team placed first overall and they all received Midwest Horse Fair halters.
Winning the halters in the senior division was the team of Luke Daniels, Andrew Mathis, Rylee McKinney and Curt Campbell. The senior team of Teri Hall, Jessica Winter and Ashlyn Rhodes placed fourth overall.
Individually, three members placed in the Top Ten with Luke Daniels placing second, Andrew Mathis third and Teri Hall ninth.
Prizes for the Horse Judging contest were generously provided by Noble Outfitters and Double Diamond Halters. The Shelby County Equine Team would like to thank them for their support.
After returning from Wisconsin, team members attended the State Hippology and Horse Bowl contests at the University of Illinois.
Haylee Ishmael, Amanda Hall, Hallie Horsman, Ashlyn Rhodes, Teri Hall, Rylee McKinney and Sydney Boehm competed in Hippology.
Hallie Horsman placed 14th in the intermediate division and Rylee McKinney placed 14th in the senior division of Hippology.
The Senior Horse Bowl team comprised of Luke Daniels, Rylee McKinney, Sydney Boehm, Curt Campbell and Tristan Boehm placed 7th overall.
The Junior Horse Bowl Team of Hallie Horsman, Haylee Ishmael and Amanda Hall placed 10th overall.
Individually, Rylee McKinney placed 10th overall in the individual horse bowl standings.
The team will compete next at the State Horse Judging Contest May 3 at Black Hawk East.
