Shelbyville Daily Union

---- — As the school year ends and summer begins, the Okaw Valley FFA chapter starts to prepare for the next year. Shortly before the end of school the chapter voted on next year’s chapter officers. The Okaw Valley FFA chapter officers for the 2013-2014 school year are as follows:

President- Cole England

Vice President- Jay Orris

Secretary- Morgan Bone

Treasurer- Blair Monroe

Historian- Sydney Richardson

Sentinel- Maddie Schultz

Reporter- Gretchen Macklin

The chapter has kicked off the summer with a trip to Springfield, Illinois for the State FFA Convention. The 10 students that attended got the privilege of listening to many good speakers, including speeches from some of the major state officers. They also got to speak to potential employers and check out college options at the career expo and listen to music performed by many talented Illinois FFA members. In addition, Cole England and Morgan Bone were appointed as delegates for our chapter and voted on next year’s state officers. It was an inspiring and motivational experience and the Okaw Valley FFA chapter is looking forward to what next year has in store.
