---- — Alissa Hudson and Nathan Standerfer were each awarded $1,000 scholarships in Memory of John Culumber from the Culumber family through the Shelby County Farm Bureau Foundation at the Shelbyville High School Senior Awards Night on Tuesday, May 7, 2013.
Alissa is the daughter of Brad and Sherri Hudson, Shelbyville. She will be attending Kaskaskia College in the fall pursuing an agriculture degree in the transfer program.
Nathan is the son of Jeff and Penny Standerfer, Shelbyville. He will be attending Land Lake College and pursing a degree in agriculture business.
Both of these young individuals were selected for their respective scholarships based on their academic accomplishments, activities in school and community, self analysis and recommendation letters.
The John Culumber Memorial Scholarship is administered and perpetuated through the Shelby County Farm Bureau Foundation. Since 2009, the Foundation has awarded $81,250 in scholarships to Shelby County students through the scholarship program. Applications for the 2014-2015 school year will be available January 1, 2014.
