Lisa Parker, Rebekah Nash, Shelby Sloan, Matthew Hardeman, Madison Getz, Megan Zindel, Mo Hunter, Drake Grubb, Salena Sloan, and Bradi Branyan helped serve the attendees of the banquet and had a great time talking to everyone and serving.
Next, on the calendar was the Moweaqua Pow Wow on June 6-9. At the Pow Wow, the chapter brought something new this year instead of putt-putt golf.
Our new game was Ping-Pong Plinko. During the weekend, many members of the chapter helped with this.
Also, you might have seen the Central A&M Chapter’s float in the parade on Saturday.
Riding on the float was Madison Getz, Shelby Sloan, Sydney Meyer, Michaela Steele, Bradi Branyan, Drake Grubb, and Rebekah Nash. The float was constructed by many different members. The float received first place!
After the Moweaqua Pow Wow, the 2013-2014 officer team went to the 85th Illinois State Convention.
The convention was held at the Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield, IL. Along with Mrs. Burgener, nine members went including Megan Zindel, Matthew Hardeman, Drake Grubb, Del Adcock, Dean Adcock, Shelby Sloan, Abbey Burgener, Lisa Parker, and Rebekah Nash. During the convention, the attendees listened to many motivational speeches and made many memories.
Also, two members of the Central A&M FFA Chapter received their State FFA Degrees- Tyler Adcock and Kelsey Burgener. Brianna Harmon was recognized to receive her American FFA Degree, which is the highest degree that can be received.
All in all, the chapter did a great job this year, and the members had a great time.
After the State FFA Convention was finished, chapter members helped the Shelby County Pork Producers at the Shelby Electric Coop lunch. To finish out the month of June, the Central A&M FFA Chapter took our Ping-Pong Plinko game to the Assumption Fest on June 27-29.
On Saturday, nine members rode in the parade, and gave out candy. Finally, June came to an end, but then July had to start.
To start off July, six members showed in the Section 16 Horse and Livestock Fair on Tuesday, July 9th, at the Christian County Fairgrounds. Lisa Parker participated in the horse show, and she did great.
Also, Tyler Adcock, Dean Adcock, Del Adcock, Ethan Woodard and Rebekah Nash showed their animals in the livestock show.
All the members did a great job.
After the livestock show and to finish off the summer, many members helped serve at the Pork Patio at the Illinois State fair.
We served on Friday, August 16th. A special thanks to Susan Parker, Lisa Sloan, Chris Burgener, Stacy Burgener, and Karen Nash, they helped our members serve while we were at the State Fair. The members had a great time while they were serving.
As you can see, the Central A&M FFA Chapter has had a very busy and fun filled summer. Congratulations to all of the members who have participated in the activities this summer.
These activities help member to become more responsible, better leaders, and better citizens. We look forward to the beginning of a new school year.
