MOWEAQUA, IL - State Rep. Bob Flider (D-Mt. Zion) will host a Legislative Update at on Thursday, March 19 at 6:00 p.m. at the Moweaqua City Hall, located at 122 N. Main St. in Moweaqua.

“Updating area citizens on current events and other issues affecting the local community is one of the most important aspects of my job as state representative,” Flider said. “At the meeting, I plan on giving Moweaqua residents an update of the spring session of the General Assembly, so that they can hear what my colleagues and I are doing to address the important issues currently facing our state.”

Flider has pledged to keep lines of communication open with local residents and remain accessible to all of the constituents of the 101st representative district. Along with town hall meetings, Flider has held coffee shop stops, senior listening tours, satellite office hours, visits with local small businesses and several other district-wide events to remain accessible to his constituents. Flider has also formed several citizen advisory committees in the areas of education, senior issues, labor issues, agriculture, sportsmen, and utility issues.

“As my fellow lawmakers and I work to address the many important issues facing our state and local community, I want to make sure that I keep local area citizens informed of the progress that we are making,” Flider added. “Giving a legislative update is one ways I can provide information to area citizens and also hear their thoughts and opinions about the issues facing our state and local community.”
