The Shelbyville Rotary Club held their annual Halloween costume judging at the Main Street School playground on Saturday afternoon. There was a very big crowd on hand for this event and many different costumes for each category.

This event is sponsored by the Rotary Club but the Rotary Club has the Shelbyville Red Hat Ladies do the judging.

The overall winner was not too impressed as she slept through the entire proceedings. Six month old Brooklyn Pittman was dressed as a mouse laying on a mousetrap as the Grand Prize Winner. The president of the Rotary Club Ray Calantoni presented sleeping Brooklyn her $100 WalMart card.

The other winners were: 1. Historic Figures, Actors, Singers -Owen Ray; 2. Movie Characters, Action Figures - Bailee Buckles; 3. Storybook Characters - Kanoa Gahl, William Nohren, Jackie Wiseman, Catherine Gahl, Kai Gahl, and Liz Eberspacher-Nohren; 4. Pretty Ladies, Princesses - Hannah Johnston; Traditional Halloween , Hoboes, Ghosts, Skeletons, Witches - Alana McKittrick; 6. Animals - Brooklyn Pittman; 7. Sports Stars and Figures - Ti Zerrusen; 8. Military and Public Figures, Policemen, Firemen, Nurses, Doctors - Chelsey Johnston; 9. Groups - Christopher Case, Elaina Bianco and Adrienne Thatcher; 10. Miscellaneous - Sophia Price.

After the judging was completed, the entire group of characters and parents trotted off on the annual parade down 1st street from main Street School to the Shelby County Courthouse parking lot.

Judging from the smiles on the kid’s faces to the laughs from the adults, everyone appeared to have a good time.
