---- — The Coaches v. Cancer Night at the Shelbyville boys basketball game v. Tolono Unity on January 24 had its pay-off on February 7.
Members of the SHS Key Club donated a check for $788 to Chris Bogart of the Shelby County Relay for Life. The funds were raised in various ways on Coaches v. Cancer Night.
Half of the gate proceeds and any other donations at the gate were donated.
A bake sale that night by the Key Club raised more funds. All the money raised by the half-time 1/2 court shot and all the 50/50 raffle were donated.
Principal Richard Stuart was taped to the gym wall by pieces of duct tape at $1 donation per foot. Basketball cancer “Starbursts” were also for sale for $1 to honor those stricken with cancer. Proceeds also went to the Shelby County Relay For Life.
The Key Club and SHS Student Council decorated the gym.
The Shelbyville Rams won the basketball game over Tolono, 63-48.
