---- — The Tower Hill Fire Department recently received a grant from the Office of the Illinois Fire Marshall that will help supply new gear for the volunteer department.

The department received nearly $26,000 which will purchase 12 complete sets of gear.

“Our gear is in pretty bad shape. It’s probably 10 to 15 years old,” said Tower Hill Fire Chief Randy Kay. “All fire districts are struggling. This comes at a real good time.”

The Tower Hill department has 15 volunteers.
