---- — The Shelby County Senior Center, Shelby County University of Illinois Extension and SAIL (Soyland Access to Independent Living) along with the Shelbyville Lions Club have all teamed up to put on the Shelby County Health Fair. The health fair will take place on Wednesday, March 26, from 9 – 11 a.m. at the Shelby Christian Church located at 200 North Hickory Street in Shelbyville. This event is free and open to the public.
There are over 30 organizations signed up to attend the health fair. Some of those 30 organizations include the Lion’s Hearing Van, Shelby Memorial Hospital, SAIL, Shelby County Health Department, Illinois Breast & Cervical Cancer program, Sarah Bush Lincoln Health System, Peace Meal, and many more. There will be give-ways, snacks, and many door prizes for the health fair attendees.
Some of the screenings and tests that will be available at the health fair: sleep apnea, blood pressure checks, visual services, pulse oximetry, children’s development chart, assistive equipment, & grip strength testing. Also, information will be available for breast and cervical cancer, diabetes, and tobacco education. The fair will also be accepting money donations for the area food pantries.
