The Daily Union Athletes of the Week stepped it up in weekend preformances. Tice Robinson and Adam Hudson did it for the Shelbyville Ram football team, while Maggy Yockey did it for the Shelbyville cross country team.
Tice Robinson was limited as a runner, had 1 reception for 12 yards, and two kick returns for just 21 yards. However, it was on defense that he earned Athlete of the Week honors. Robinson had a season-high 15 tackles against play-off bound Tolono. Robinson had 11 solo tackles and four assists.
Teammate Adam Hudson was just as effective as a defender in Friday night’s Ram finale. Hudson recorded 14 tackles. He had a team-high and season-high 12 solo tackles. He added two assisted tackles.
Freshman Maggy Yockey (20:29.36) stepped up her effort at the Shelbyville Regional cross country meet on Saturday. She advanced to sectional by cutting her time by 30 seconds over her conference performance and placing 17th overall.
