Witness while you wait

As I sit down to write this, I feel my heart breaking for friends and family that don’t have a relationship with Jesus Christ. My heart is breaking for those people that I pass on the street, or in the store, who don’t have a relationship with Jesus Christ. My heart is breaking for all those people around the world that I have never met or seen who don’t have a relationship with Jesus Christ.

As Christians, we know that one day we will be called home to live with our Heavenly Father and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. How many times have we thought about how wonderful that day will be? It’s a feeling that we can only imagine because there are no words in our human language that can describe it.

I think we sometimes look at the state of the world and wonder why Jesus hasn’t come back for us yet. Even Jesus said that He didn’t know when He would come back. In Matthew 24:36 he said, “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” He went on to say in Matthew 25:13, “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.”

It’s important that we don’t become complacent in our watch, or our lives. There is a reason that He has not come yet. There is a reason that even in the midst of the struggles and trials our world brings our way that we are still here. The time has not yet come!

2 Peter 3:9 says “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
