Windsor Challenges Dieterich

Windsor started the postseason knocking off rival #3-seed Stew-Stras in the Dieterich 1A Regional. Then they had to face NTC power Dieterich in the semifinal. Windsor challenged gamely, Dieterich prevailed, 61-49.

Windsor jumped out to a 17-12 lead in the 1st period. Dieterich defense diminished the Devil offense in the 2nd with a 13-6 run. The Maroons took a 2-point lead at the break, 25-23.

The 3rd period was more offensive on both sides, but Dieterich still held an edge and increased their lead to eight points with a 15-9 run. Starting the 4th, Windsor was down, 40-32. But they didn't back off.

The Devils scored 17 points in the final 8:00, more than in the 2nd and 3rd periods combined. Dieterich was able to stiff-arm the devil comeback down the stretch by scoring 21 points and extending their final margin to 12 points.

Freshman Tristan Warner led the Devils with 23 points, including a pair of triples and an impressive 11-of-13 at the free throw line. Dieterich's Hinterscher bested Warner's output, scoring a game-high 28 points, with two treys and an amazing 14-of-14 at the line. Hayden Cole also scored in double figures for the Devils. He had 15 points on a trio of deuces and a trey hat trick.
