Fox announces run for County Clerk

---- — Shelby County Clerk and Recorder Jessica Fox announced her intention to seek election for the office.

Fox has served as Deputy County Clerk and Recorder for 11 years. then in January 2013, the Shelby County Board appointed Fox as the County Clerk and recorder when Kathy Lantz retired.

“I appreciate the confidence the County Board has shown by appointing me to that position. I now intend to run for election as a Democrat int eh March 18, 2014, Primary Election to that office,” said Fox. “The Clerk and Recorder’s office is responsible for vital records, important and complicated election procedures, land transfers, accounts payable and tax extensions. The clerk also serves as administrative assistant to the County Board. These duties require the vast experience and knowledge I have acquired as a Deputy County Clerk and Recorder.”

Fox was born and raised in Shelby County and graduated from Shelbyville High School and the University of Illinois. She is the daughter of Phillip and Marge Strohl. She and her husband Doug have tow daughters. She is a member of the Illinois County Clerk and Recorders Association and a former Rose Township Trustee and Clerk.

“I intend to continue the same excellent service and experienced professionalism the Shelby County residents have come to expect from my office with the support of the voters,” continued Fox.
