Windsor ace Lindsay Floyd threw a no-hitter and was a dropped 3rd strike away from a perfect game. Floyd threw 14 strikeouts for the second game in a row.
“The girls were patient at the plate with 11 walks,” said Devil coach Brian Lee.
Windsor got on the board in the 2nd when Kassy Strowmatt and Mercedes Austin led off with singles. Charley Bailey walked and Bayleigh Tabor walked, forcing in a run. With one out, Floyd walked, forcing in a run. Whitney Kuhl hit a sac fly, driving in a run, 4-0 Windsor. Floyd had four Ks in the first two innings.
Windsor added two runs in the 3rd, 6-0. Windsor scored three runs in the 5th. Kuhl hit a base-loaded, two-out, RBI-single, 9-0. Floyd’s K count was 11 after five innings. In the 6th, Bell singled Austin in to put the 10-run rule in play, 10-0. Floyd rang up all three batters in the Pana 6th on just 12 pitches to notch the win.
