The Windsor community is “Proud to be American” and will show it in their 117th annual Harvest Picnic next week.
Country music singer Eddy Raven is one of several musical shows during the three-day event in Windsor’s city park. He will perform at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 17.
Raven’s music style is a mixture of rock, country, Cajun and blues. He has written songs for artists such as Roy Orbison, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, Tanya Tucker, George Jones, Kenny Chesney, Chris LeDoux, Lorrie Morgan, Gene Watson, Johnny Cash, Lynn Anderson, Connie Smith, Faron Young, Moe Bandy, and Brenda Lee.
His first number one hit was “I Got Mexico”. Since then Raven has 30 ASCAP song writing awards, eight #1s, 14 Top 10s, 23 Top 100s, and 24 albums to his credit.
Other music features for the Picnic include Scott Wattles gospel music at 6 p.m. and Battle Creek country music at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, August 15, and Hotel California Eagles Tribute Band with two shows, 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., Friday, August 16.
The 117th annual Picnic features lots of activities for families with a carnival by Fountain City Amusements all three days, pedal tractor pull, 5K run and parade on Saturday, and lots of food all three days.
