SHELBYVILLE, IL. —
Two women were injured as a result of an accident Monday morning in northwestern Shelby County.
Marsha A. Summer, 59, of Shelbyville, was driving a 2008 Toyota Sienna eastbound on the Moweaqua Blacktop at the intersection US 51 northbound. She allegedly failed to yield at the stop intersection and struck a 2000 Chevrolet Lumina driven by Brenna M. O'Rear, 18, of Lincoln, who was northbound on the highway.
Both women were taken to Decatur Memorial Hospital by Decatur ambulance. Both women were wearing seatbelts when the accident occurred.
Summers was charged by Illinois State Police with Failure to Yield- Stop Intersection.
