Raiders rough up St. Elmo

---- — Central A&M baseball (3-4-1) came within a game of .500 on Friday with a home defense of the St. Elmo Eagles, 7-1.

The Raiders roughed up St. Elmo early. They scored four runs in the bottom of the 1st with help from the Eagles. St. Elmo had four errors in the game and their starting pitcher gave up two hits and four walks in the 4-run rally. He left the game and A&M added two more runs in the 3rd and one in the 4th.

St. Elmo got an unearned run in the 4th off A&M pitcher Curtis Ramsey, who threw a 2-hit, complete game shutout. Ramsey walked just one, while striking out 10.

A&M out-hit St. Elmo 8 to 3. Moma and Ohl led the way for A&M. Moma was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Ohl was 2-for-2 with an RBI.

A&M (4-5-1) went on to split a doubleheader with Windsor on Saturday. See today's Daily Union. A&M was to host Pana on Monday, then travel to Clinton on Tuesday, before returning home on Friday to host Monticello.
