Mr. & Mrs. Wright Win Bass World

Bass World Sports Division 6 held a tournament on Lake Shelbyville at Eagle Creek Boat Ramp June 14. Shelbyville’s own husband and wife team, John and Cheryl Wright beat 96 other fishermen and 48 other boats.

John and Cheryl Wright had a 2.06 cushion over the 2nd place team. Mr. and Mrs. Wright weighed in 5 fish for 18-73 Lbs winning $1,600.00, including John’s $250.00 in Ranger Cup Bonus Money and $140.00 in bonus sidepot money. They used Jewel PBJ jigs, flippin laydowns, and brush in 5-7 feet of water around the north area of the lake. John is 62 and is retired. Prairie Outfitters and Dobyns Rods sponsor them.

Shane Haslett and Lance Dasenbrock, from Beecher City and Effingham, IL, were 2nd place winners. They weighed in 5 fish for 16-67 Lbs winning $780.00. They used Lamkin green pumpkin jigs, fishing mid lake points in 15-20 feet of water. Shane is 43 and is a heavy equip operator. Lance is 29 and is construction worker. Ranger Boats, Mercury and Interstate batteries sponsor them.

Bruce Henderson and Derrick Gaddis, from Sigel, IL, were 3rd place winners. They weighed in 5 fish for 16-28 Lbs winning $730.00, including $120.00 in bonus sidepot money. They fished shakey head with a finesse watermelon worm, in 15-20 feet of water around mid lake. Bruce is 60 and is in the timber business. Derrick is 33 and is also in the timber business. Henderson Timber sponsors them.

Dan and Garrett McDowell, from Mattoon, IL, were 4th place winners. They weighed in 5 fish for 14-51 Lbs winning $1,070.00, including Garrett’s $470.00 for Big Bass with his 6-27 Lb bass and $100.00 in bonus sidepot money.

Jeremy Mull and Dave Sapetti, from Chatham, IL, were 5th place winners weighed in 5 fish for 14-43 Lbs winning $470.00, including $100.00 in bonus sidepot money. Juice Wright and Donnie Dill, from Dieterich, IL, were 6th place winners. They weighed in 5 fish for 13-45 Lbs winning $430.00, including $100.00 in bonus sidepot money.

Roy Meyer and Steven Meyers, from Tuscola and Teutopolis, IL, were 7th place winners. They weighed in 5 fish for 13-42 Lbs winning $380.00, including $100.00 in bonus sidepot money. 8th place winners Bob & Bev Wille, from Troy, IL, weighed in 5 fish for 13-22 Lbs winning $340.00 including $100.00 in bonus sidepot money.
