Walleye Festival begins Friday

---- — The Findlay Walleye Festival is set to start Friday through Sunday, July 26-28 at 4 p.m. in downtown Findlay.

On Friday, the Walleye tent will be open from 4 to 8 p.m., and the tent will be located in front of the Firehouse.

The main entertainment Friday will be music from multiple artists and groups on the main stage. Simply Faith will be the first musical performance to open the festival at 4 p.m., and will perform till about 5:15 p.m. Simply Faith is known for their southern gospel music.

Also known for their southern gospel music, AFC Ministries with Gregory T. Ridenhour will perform after Simply Faith and perform till about 6:30 p.m.

Followed after at 7 p.m. will be acts by Deputy Murray and K9 Hektor, Sadie Zimmerman at 7:55 p.m., Battle Creek Band, and to close the first night of the festival will be Big Daddy Jasper in the Beer Tent.

Saturday is full of entertainment starting at 6 a.m. with the Community Center Pancake Breakfast, and the Walleye tent reopening at 11 a.m.

The annual parade starts at 10 a.m. after the pancake breakfast.

Some children events include the Kiddie Tractor Pull and 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament at Findlay Park. The tournament is sponsored by the Committee of AMD.

The Garden Tractor Pull will take place behind the beer tent at 1 p.m.

Back on the main stage will feature the Forrest Parker Band from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Almost Country Band will perform after from 4-7 p.m.

The Car/Truck/Motercycle show will be at 8 p.m.

To end the night, Misdeameanor Band will be the last act on the main stage from 8-11 p.m., and Feuding Hillbillies will be in the beer tent performing till 12 a.m.

On Sunday, the day will only feature Slant 6 performing in the beer tent from 3-7 p.m., along with the Walleye Tent open for the last day.

The Findlay Walleye Festival Volunteers thank the Findlay Fire Department for the use of the firehouse and the Village Board and Community for their support, and to the volunteers who dedicated their time to make the festival a success.
