Raiders run away with Tolono title

Central A&M girls track won another invitational on Friday, scoring 103 points to take the 21-team Tolono meet. They beat 2nd place St. Teresa again (69) and a close 3rd place SOV (63).

Although Central A&M won the meet going away, Amanda McClain of SOV was a triple champion. McClain won the 200 dash (27.46), won the quarter mile (1:00.16), and won the long jump (16-3).

A&M’s Taylor Adcock was a double, almost triple, champ. Adcock won the 100 dash (12.75), the 300 hurdles (46.77) and was 2nd in the 100 hurdles (16.08).

Adcock and Kaitlyn Corzine (16.59) went #2, #3 in the 100 hurdles and went #1, #3 in the 300 hurdles. Corzine ran 49.29. Genny Rose Stringer and Mikah Maples went #1, #2 in the discus. Stringer threw 120-5 and Maples 107-7. Stringer was also 3rd in the shot (33-6.5).

Central A&M won the 4x4 relay with Sarah Bailey, Kylee Burcham, Salena Sloan, and Mikaela Cole (4:31.81). They also beat the defending state champion SOV 4x2 relay team. CAM’s team of Bailey, Ryan Dooley, Corzine, and Adcock placed 2nd (1:50.05) and SOV’s squad of Nuzzo, Marshall, Lamb, and Neuhauser placed 3rd (1:50.40).

A&M’s 4x1 team was 5th and their 4x8 team of Cole, Burcham, Paige Seitz, and Sloan placed 4th (10:40.88). Salena Sloan was 4th in the 800 (2:35.18) and 3rd in the 1600 run (5:46.27).

Mollie Bowman (SOV) showed up in the triple jump, placing 2nd (33.1). She was 7th in the long jump (14-4) and was on the 3rd place 4x2 SOV relay team.

Central A&M and SOV were slated to compete in the Bi-County Meet in Sullivan on Tuesday.
