SHELBYVILLE, IL. —
The Shelby County Health Department will have an Influenza and Pneumonia vaccination clinic for adults ages 19 and older on Friday, September 27, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 to 4 p.m. at the Health Department.
The Center for Disease Control recommends Pneumonia vaccination for all people 65 years and older. A booster is required if you were vaccinated before the age of 65. To be protected, people need vaccinated for influenza yearly. Guidelines recommend routine influenza vaccination for all people six month of age and older.
The Health Department is a Medicare participating provider and will accept Medicare and Medicaid payment in full for Flu and Pneumonia vaccinations. Please bring your Medicare and Medicaid card to the clinics. The cost is $38 for a Flu vaccination and $95 for a Pneumonia vaccination if you are not covered by Medicare or Medicaid. No one will be denied a Flu vaccination for inability to pay.
