---- — Shelbyville High School wrestling is always looking to compete. A week ago they went to the PORTA Summer Duals and went 4-1 in team competition.

The Rams took 13 wrestlers, minus standouts Wyatt Fox and Garrett Brachbill. The crew had a combined individual record of 34-29 on the day.

“The boys wrestled very well and this was a great oppurtunity for us to get some off-season matches against some tough competition,” said Ram coach Greg Harkins. “We spent all off-season adding a new offensive take down series. We used this time to work on it and they did fantastic with it. We are looking forward to the winter.”

Jared Finley went 5-0, while Adam Hudson and Lucas Duckett both went 4-1. Zach Stirrett, Ben Houska, Matt Tinsman, Jarred Hicks, Elliott Smithson, and Zac Isaacs all went 3-2, while Andrew Mudgette was 2-1.

Some members of the Rams will combine with PORTA and wrestle at duals in Indiana. A contingent of Rams will also comepet at the Midwest Nationals in July. The Rams have already held wrestling camp this summer.
