---- — The Shelbyville Sluggers teed off with three home runs and a triple and 15 hits as they doubled-up Monticello on Friday, 12-6.

The Rams put up four 3-run rallies, as they kept spinning the revolving door at home plate, and they got started right out of the gate.

Lead-off hitter Jensen Cloe drew a walk in the 1st, followed by Kayla Brachbill's triple, 1-0. Grace Moll stepped to the plate and she clobbered a 2-run homer, 3-0. The Rams weren't done. Madison Boone singled, Brandy Smith singled and Abbie Watton reached on an error. The bases were loaded with no outs, but Monty's pitcher mercifully got out of the inning with two strikeouts and a pop-out.

Monty got two of the those runs right back in their half. Moll have up the first of her seven walks. A sacrifice fly and another walk, put two on with one out. Moll threw a strikeout, but then gave up a 2-RBI hit. She rang up the next batter, but it was just a 1-run game, 3-2 Rams.

Shelby got two men in scoring position in the 2nd, but couldn't get them in. Brachbill singled and Moll was walked with one out. Two fly balls were caught and Monty came up in the 2nd.

Moll was in charge in the 2nd, KO-ing the first two batters, then getting the third to ground out to Rachel Fox, 3rd to 1st.

Shelby broke loose again in the 3rd. Watton led off with a single and Fox followed with a single. Lindsey Eigsti sacrificed the runners over and Courtney Williams singled to drive in a run, 4-2.

With one out and a runner on 3rd, Cloe drove the ball for a sacrifice fly, scoring Fox, 5-2. Williams scored and the Rams had separation, 6-2.

Monty got two hits to start the bottom of the 3rd. Moll gave up another walk and Valentine scored on a passed ball, 6-3.

With two men on and no outs, Moll took over. She threw out the next batter from the mound, then rang up the next two.

Shelby scorched Monty with another 3-run rally in the 4th. Moll led off with a single, then Boone went yard on the first pitch, her fifth homer in a week, scoring two. Smith, the third batter of the inning with no outs, came to the plate and got every bit of a 1-0 pitch, hitting a back-to-back homer. With one out, Fox singled, but was stranded. No matter, Shelby was up 9-3.

Moll KO'd the first batter in the Monty 4th. She gave up a single and the #9 batter reached on an error. With two on and one out, Moll threw out a batter on a comebacker to the mound, then rang up the next batter.

Like an all-you-can-eat buffet, the Rams came back for more in the 5th. They launched their third 3-run rally in three innings.

Cloe led off with a single. She forced out on a fielder's choice. But, Moll singled and the Rams had two on with one out. Boone reached on an error. Brachbill scored. After a ground out, Watton singled in another run and the Rams were up 12-3.

Monty had a long way to go and a short time to get there. Moll gave up three straight walks and a couple of passed balls. After she threw a strikeout, a single drove in a run. Moll reared back and threw two more Ks to get out of the inning, still up 12-5.

Shelby went in order in the 6th and Monty looked to close the gap more. Moll rang up the first batter, then gave up a hit. A walk and a couple wild pitches scored a run. Williams then threw out a batter, 2nd to 1st. Moll hit a batter, but Smith squeezed a fly ball in center to keep Monty back, 12-6.

Shelby went in order in the 7th and Monty was down to their last at bat. Moll threw out the first batter on a comebacker. Watton made a 3-unassisted play, then Moll threw out the last batter at 1st.

The middle of the Ram order all had multiple hits. Brachbill was 2-for-5 with a triple. Moll was 3-for-4 with a home run. Boone was 2-for-4 with a home run. Smith was 2-for-4 with a home run. Watton was 2-for-4 and Fox was 2-for-4.
