Okaw Valley High School homecoming Sept. 16-21

Okaw Valley High School Student Council announces their annual Homecoming Week September 16-21.

The overall theme to this year’s festivities is “Rock of the Ages”. Each day will highlight a special theme at OVHS and students are encouraged to participate accordingly. The week kicks off with Monday as “Dude Looks Like a Lady” day. Tuesday is “Rock Star Day”, where students are to dress as their favorite Rock Star. Wednesday’s theme is “Class color day” with the “Powder Puff” football games beginning at 7 pm. Concessions consisting of pork burgers, hot dogs, candy, and drinks will be provided by the Okaw Valley Booster Club. Thursday is “International Music Day”, where students are to represent music from their favorite country. Thursday evening will be the annual Bonfire. The Bonfire along with a Pep Rally will begin immediately following the Okaw Valley Varsity Girls Volleyball game vs. Arcola. Friday is “SOV Spirit Day”. There will be a school wide cookout (including the entire SOV football team and cheerleaders) followed by a “Battle of the Classes” which include competitive games on the football field. The games will be followed by a pep assembly in the OVHS gym. Other events on Friday will include the annual homecoming parade at 4 pm and football game at 7 pm on the Sullivan High School football field.

All week students will be participating in window decorating at the Marrowbone Public Library, float building, and various class competition activities. The week concludes on Saturday with the crowning of the 2013 Homecoming King and Queen at 7:30 pm with a dance following from 8-11 pm, in the Okaw Valley High School gym. All students from Okaw Valley High School and Sullivan High School are invited to attend.
