Rams allow 1 hit in 2 games


In the 4th, Pullen hit a 1-out single. Howell walked and was out on a fielder’s choice by Tanner Coleman. Pullen scored, 9-0. In the 5th, Miller reached on an error, but was out on a fielder’s choice by Cameron. Cameron stole 2nd and went to 3rd on an error. Summers made it a 10-0 game, driving Cameron in on a ground out. Watson and Gottfriedt both reached on errors and were in scoring position, but were left on.

In the bottom of the 5th, Clinton was on the brink. Pullen came in to pitch. Martz threw out the first batter and Pullen rang up the next two batters to end the game.

Pullen also led the Ram hitters, going 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, two runs scored and two RBIs. Summers, Miller, and Cameron also hit safely.

In the B game, Miller threw a K in the 1st, two in the 2nd, two in the 3rd, two in the 4th and ended the game in the bottom of the 5th with his eight strikeout. Eight different Ram batters hits safely and seven different runners scored.

Peyton Koonce and Gavin Stockdale led the hitters, both going 2-for-4 with a run scored. Koonce reached base 3-of-4 times and had the big hit of the game, a double.

Shelbyville Moulton A (1-0) and B (1-0) were to play Monday at St. Anthony, which beat Windsor/Stew-Stras on Saturday, 10-5. Shelby A and B open at home on Tuesday against Maroa and Thursday against Warrensburg, both days at 4 p.m.
