3 vying for Miss Stewardson crown

This year’s Stewardson Lions Club Miss Stewardson coronation will be held at the town park at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, August 25th. There are three girls vying for the title.

Jordyn Howe, a junior at Stewardson-Strasburg High School, is the daughter of Jason and Jessica Howe of Mode. She received the Spanish Award and Keyboarding Award her freshman year of school. Jordyn was on the honor roll and a member of the Scholastic Bowl Team both her freshman and sophomore years of school. She also kept the stats for track. She is a member of the Parent Teacher Student Association at Stewardson-Strasburg and of the United Methodist Church. She likes drawing, art, watching movies, and spending time with her friends. Her future plans include becoming an artist and having a family.

Cierra Reed, the daughter of Roy Reed of Stewardson, is a junior at Stewardson-Stewardson High School. As a member of the FFA, she has received her Green Degree Award. She has also been a member of the Stewardson-Strasburg Student Council and Tech Club. She is a member of the North American Hunting Club and a Stewardson Fire Explorer. Cierra enjoys horseback riding,, 4-wheeler riding, hunting, fishing, hanging with friends and family, and driving around listening to Florida Georgia Line. Her career goal is to attend college and become an occupational therapist.

Kaitlin Slifer is the daughter of Jeff and Sharon Slifer of Stewardson and is a junior at Stewardson- Strasburg High School. While in high school she has been a member of the band, Pep Band, Marching Band, Drum Line, FFA, Spanish Club, softball and volleyball teams. In FFA, she was Star Greenhand and Chapter Reporter, she was selected to go to Illinois Leadership Seminar, and she was class president. She is also an active member of 4-H and is an acolyte at church. Katlin is interested in photography. Her future plans are to become famous, meet Luke Bryan, get married, and start a family.
