SS/W posts early rally

---- — A 10-run 2nd set the tone for Stew-Stras/Windsor’s drubbing of Dieterich on Tuesday, 13-7. They followed that with assault and battery against Beecher City, Saturday, 12-1.

Stew-Stras/Windsor climbed above .500, but only scored in two innings. However, they scored in bunches when they did. They belted out 17 hits in the game and recorded 12 RBIs out of 13 runs.

Visiting Dieterich got on the board first with a solo run in the 1st. Stew-Stras/Windsor didn’t respond until the 2nd, when they blew the doors off Dieterich for 10 runs. SS/W milked that 10-1 lead for two innings, before Dieterich got a 3-run rally and cutting the lead to six runs.

SS/W didn’t respond right away, but had their own 3-run rally in the 5th, to get the lead back to nine runs, 13-4. Dieterich’s body twitched for a couple runs in the 6th and one in the 7th, but still lost by six.

Thies, who hit 2-for-4, led SS/W by driving in five of their 13 runs. Eleven SS/W batters hit safely and six had multiple hits. Hansen and Thies were both 2-for-4. Kramer and Armes were both 2-for-4 with two RBIs each. Quast was 2-for-3 and Bridges was a perfect 2-for-2.

SS/W (4-3) was to play at Beecher City on Friday.

Saturday, A 7-run rally in the 1st was a Stew-Stras/Windsor death blow that just took six innings before it stopped BCCH’s heart, 12-1.

SS/W pounded out 14 hits to BCCH’s three. SS/W platooned 17 different players into the lopsided game. Quast led SS/W at the plate by going 4-for-4, scoring three times and driving in three runs. Christian Kessler only pitched two innings to get the win, throwing a 1-hitter and striking out two.
