Central Illinois Public Transit would like to invite the residents of Shelby County to ride with them on Friday, December 13 to the Shelbyville Festival of Lights and the First Church of the Nazarene Live Nativity.
The event is open to the public and cost for transportation is $2 per person for a round trip for those living in Shelby County.
“This is a great way to see the holiday lights and the nativity scene, support the community and really get in to the holiday spirit,” said Lisa Casterline, CIPT Mobility Manager for Shelby County.
The 2013 Shelbyville Festival of Lights is located in Forest Park off of 9th Street and the Live Nativity is at 701 W. North Street, both in Shelbyville. Donations for the Festival of Lights are accepted, but not required.
Passengers will be picked up at their designated location and enjoy the Lights and Nativity Scene before being returning to their drop off site.
“This event has been well received in the past and our passengers seem to really enjoy both the lights and the nativity scene. CIPT is just happy to provide this service to the community at an affordable price,” added Casterline.
There will be a limited number of seats available so passengers are encouraged to call 1-855-755-2478 (CIPT) Monday through Friday from 6 am to 6 pm to book their trip.
