---- — Shelbyville High School’s new head football coach Mark Ramsey put the Rams through their paces this week as they held spring football camp.

After a long tenure at Central A&M High School, Ramsey comes to Shelbyville with a stellar record.

“We’re bringing our philosophy, we are going to work hard and we’re gonna love the kids,” Coach Ramsey said. “Our schedule this year is tough, but we are going to compete. We will teach them to compete.”

Ramsey was getting the first look at his junior-heavy varsity team and slim numbers in the fresh-soph ranks. He’s hoping for some more freshmen and sophomores to join the team.

Ramsey is bringing some new coaches to his staff to join those who were on staff last year. Watch the Daily union next week for an interview with Coach Ramsey and a look at the fall season.
