SHELBYVILLE, IL. —
A Shelbyville man has been charged with Burglary in connection with recent car break-ins.
Jordan Brown, 19, was charged Monday following his arrest Sunday night. He is scheduled to appear in court Friday with Public Defender Robert Swiney as his counsel, according to the Shelby County State's Attorney's office.
Shelbyville Police Chief David Tallman said there were about 50 vehicle break-ins over the weekend and Brown was caught in the act Sunday night.
"When he was arrested, he was found with the loot," Tallman said.
Tallman added that there have been several arrests in connection with vehicle break-ins, but people still need to lock their car doors and remove all valuables and medicines from the vehicles.
"I can't emphasize that enough - lock your car doors at all times," Tallman said.
